Farmer’s Marketing: I am a Carrot Connoisseur

I am a carrot connoisseur. We eat them nearly every day…baby carrots, shredded carrots, crudités carrots {fancy}. In fact, the vegetable intake of my precious little two year old is 99.9% carrots {her idea not mine}. Indeed, I am always stocked with carrots. You’ve tried one, you’ve tried them all…

Our latest trip to the farmer’s market landed us a bundle of the most darling carrots. Granted, this purchase did not necessarily challenge my comfort zone but it truly settled the notion that locally grown produce is premium. The taste is full, organic, subtly sweet, unrivaled.

Naturally, winsome carrots require very little work thanks to the farmer’s due diligence. When were you last impressed by carrots? I know, probably never. These carrots possessed {serious} wow-factor. After rinsing and trimming the greens, proceed with the killer “B” treatment.

  1. Blanch {boil} for 3 to 5 minutes.
  2. Bathe in ice water till sufficiently shocked.
  3. Brush and sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  4. Barbecue on the grill for 3 to 5 minutes, turning on occasion.
  5. Bedazzle with a garnish of minced carrot greens.
